iPhones that will not support iOS 26:

The iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max models will not be eligible for the iOS 26 update. These devices will remain on iOS 18 but will continue to receive security updates for a period.

iPad Compatibility for iPad 26

iPadOS 26 extends new capabilities to many iPad models. iPads with an A12 Bionic chip or newer are generally compatible.

The iPad (7th generation) is not compatible with iPadOS 26.

Apple Intelligence Requirements

Devices supporting Apple Intelligence include:

  • iPads: iPad mini (A17 Pro), and iPad models equipped with the M1 chip or newer (e.g., iPad Air M1, M2, M3; iPad Pro M1, M2, M4).

Users should be aware that not all features of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 will be available on every compatible device. Features leveraging Apple Intelligence will be limited to devices with the necessary processing capabilities.
